Circle’s swimming lesson programme currently holds the STA (Swimming Teaching Association) Gold Mark award for its excellence in delivering swimming lessons. We are extremely proud to have held this award for over 6 years.

In order to gain this standard the STA viewed risk assessments, health and safety documentation, operating procedures, swimming lesson programme, environmental conditions, accident forms, customer care quality and staff training.

This award recognises our outstanding delivery of service that we offer to you, our customers.

Our Turtles groups cater for 3-5 years and are an excellent introduction to learning to swim through fun games and activities. Our Turtles work towards achieving their Stanley 1-4 awards rewarding increased water confidence. Once our Turtles turn 5 or have completed their Stanley awards then they are ready to start on our Stars programme.

Our Stars Groups cater for those progressing on from the Turtle programme. These awards include stroke improvement, Water confidence and Water safety. The awards Move from Red star (entering the water safely and swimming 5 metres) through to pink star (swimming 100 metres timed using multiple strokes)

STARS CRITERIA

The advanced programme is split into 3 groups - Bronze, Silver and Gold. The requirements of these programmes range from 200 metres (timed) through to performing advanced water maneuvres and underwater swimming.

Beginner Classes (Turtles/Red Stars/Orange Stars) 

Unfortunately our programme for beginners classes are full and our waiting list for these swimming lessons is very long. If you would like to be added to the waiting list then please give the centre a call on 01952 388 470 or email us at circleathlc@taw.org.uk. We do expect a wait of around 12 months - 18months for beginner lessons.

Intermediate/Advanced Classes - (Yellow Stars - Advanced)

If you would like to enquire about joining your child(ren) onto our programme for Yellow stars and above (please see criteria above) then please give the centre a call on 01952 388 470 or email us at circleathlc@taw.org.uk. We do expect a wait of around 6 months (or longer in some cases) for intermediate/advanced lessons.

parents & carers

To help us ensure that our lessons run as smoothly as possible please can we ask all parents and guardians to observe the following notes:

  • Swimmers do not arrive on poolside until a maximum of 5 minutes before their class is due to start.
  • Swimmers must shower before swimming.
  • Toilet breaks! We will always do our best to signal parents & guardians when their child has asked for the toilet however if we are unable to gain your attention then the child will be allowed to go through to the toilet area alone.
  • Swimmers must wear appropriate swim wear.  Swimming shorts should not go below the knee as this can affect the ability to swim.

SESSION CANCELLATIONS

In the unforeseen circumstance that we have to cancel a swimming session then a credit will be applied to the next terms fees.

HOLIDAYS, INJURIES AND ILLNESSES

Unfortunately credited sessions cannot be granted for any Holidays taken during the swimming term. Sessions may be credited for injuries and illnesses and these will be considered on a case by case basis.

OUR GOLD MARK

The STAmark was relaunched in 2014 and aims to provide a standardised level of accreditation that organisations can work to which demonstrates prestige in the key area of running a swim school. The Circle swimming lessons have held the award since its relaunch in 2014. This award is the Gold standard in the industry which symbolises the excellent standards and provision that we provide to our swimmers.
